Q CELLS Proves It’s Capable Of Getting the Best From Australia’s Harsh Sun Through Its Proprietary Yield Security
When it comes to building solar cells that can handle Australia’s harsh conditions, Q CELLS’ patented technologies are delivering the world’s best yield security under real conditions as recent performance tests reveal.
PERC solar cells, which have been increasing in popularity due to their higher electricity yields when compared to conventional solar cells, now comprise around 25% of all new solar panels being produced for the residential and commercial market in Australia – with projections of being 50% by 2020*.

Yield Security is a group of five separate technologies pioneered by Q CELLS that together act as a guarantee of maximum performance and product protection in Q CELLS’ proprietary Q.ANTUM technology. The measures to protect against three types of common degradation found in (Potential Induced Degradation), Anti-LID (Light Induced Degradation), and Anti-LeTID (Light and Temperature Induced Degradation) that can lead to power losses.
The other two features include a traceable unique ID marker on each individual solar cell, known as TRA.Q, that traces each step of production and can be used to demonstrate a genuine Q CELLS solar cell from a fake as well as monitor each process during manufacturing to further analyse and optimise quality and production. Another feature of Yield Security is called Hot Spot Protect that uses an infrared camera to ensure that 100 per cent of all Q.ANTUM solar cells are free of material and process defects which could lead to dangerous hot spots.
